Starting Fresh

Welcome to my world. Of course most of you know me if you are reading this, but if not...I am a stencil artist living in Chicago, IL.

This particular blog will be documenting my progress on paintings, showing sketches, documenting projects, artshows, etc.

I decided to get a blogspot and let the tumblr die out..not sure why. haha.

10% of our proceeds from card sales go to MAKE-A-WISH foundation. Most cards are priced around $3.25 and all handmade/illustrated/ with handmade envelope!

So with all that being said I need to get to work on some stencils for an upcoming show in Logan Square. The Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival. I am doing three new stencil paintings for one of the galleries participating. the show is July 23rd-25th. I will be in the "Ensemblage" gallery.

Here is the image I am cutting for a four layer stencil on a 12"x36" canvas.

I am going to have the stencil layers in black and grey tones, yet on the wall behind the homeless guys I am going to add some graffiti writing in bright colours.

The other two paintings will be a buddha with graffiti related elements, and the other will be a squid fighting a whale in Lake Michigan.

Should be finished up within two weeks. Photos of the progress will be on here soon.

Off to work on the stencils.
